Cost Control can contribute greatly to achieving optimal levels of profitability as well as the difference between total revenue with total cost contribute to the achievement of profit. This training will give participants insight into management in making the best decisions, relevant and for the long term.

 

Objectives

After this training, participants are expected to:

1. Identify and classify costs, calculate mark-ups and profit margins
2. Forecast costs, including apportioning and absorb the fixed costs by using various techniques
3. Conduct a simple direct product profitability analysis and cost lifecycle
4. Identify the cost of working capital
5. Conducting variance analysis and analytical reviews of cists
6. Identify relevant costs for long-term decision making

  • The cost of holding inventory

4. Costs and decision-making

• • Relevant costs for a decision
  • Outsourcing and changing the nature of costs

5. Analyzing differences

• • Cost variances and interpretation
  • Analytical review

6. Costs and uncertainty

• • Sensitivity analysis
  • Other techniques for analyzing uncertainty and risk
  • Sourcing from overseas and F/X rates
