Training GIS (Geographic Information System)

Silabus bahasa indonesia –> Training Sistem Informasi Geografi (SIG)

Descriptions

According to Murai (1999), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as an information system used to enter, store, recall, process, analyze and produce geo-referenced data or geospatial data, to support decision making in the planning and management of land use, resources nature, environment, transportation, city facilities, and other public services. Geographical Information System (GIS) becomes one of the means of delivering information. Especially for information related to spatial data. The information system has been and is being developed by governments in many regions in Indonesia, for example, GIS Regional potential, to showcase the regional potentials in various fields including the social economy and culture in the area to attract investors. The development of spatial data utilization in the past decade has increased dramatically. This relates to the widespread use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and technological developments in obtaining, recording, and collecting spatial data. High technology such as Global Positioning System (GPS), remote sensing, and total stations, has made recording digital spatial data relatively faster and easier. Increased storage capacity, increased data transfer capacity, and faster data processing speeds make spatial data an inseparable part of the development of information technology. Geographic Information System Technology can be used for scientific investigations, resource management, development planning, cartography, and route planning. For example, GIS can help planners quickly calculate emergency response times when natural disasters occur, or GIS can be used to search for wetlands that need protection from pollution.
